I read this book in high school and adored it. I think there's always a point in a teenager's life during which they're fed up with trying to find a partner. I quite liked that girls banded together to say, "We don't need a boyfriend." Though just when the characters are becoming too bitter, cynical, and jaded, they realize that they don't have to avoid love just because most of the time it doesn't work out. I think this novel is particularly poignant because Eulberg explores the idea that, yes, love is hard. But finding the right person doesn't mean you are weak or need them, it just means you found someone who's your best, closest friend.
